just riding along

Spending the majority of my adult life in a bike shop, I’ve fabricated some pretty interesting solutions for problems (or sometimes non-problems). Most of them looked like exactly what they were; a broken bicycle part hacked into a suitable replacement for a broken non-bicycle part. Until today, my proudest moment was fitting a modified Shimano hub shell into a scotch tape dispenser. However, today I made this business card holder, out of the bottom bracket of a 1999 Trek 1000 with a cracked headtube, and it turned out beautifully. (Taken with instagram)
